Description
170′ HOWE TRUSS DECK BRIDGE
Scale: N
(Length = 12-7/8″ Width = 1-5/16” Height = 2-9/16”) *Height is from bottom to top of tie, not including fencing.
The through bridge provides greater clearance under the bridge than does a deck bridge, but is more expensive for the same span and loading. From 1840 to the 1870’s this design was the predominant structure to use. The design served the railroad industry until the 1930’s. The instructions are easy and straight forward with full size drawings/templates. Kit materials are strip basswood, white pine ties (N scale ties are basswood), Nut/Bolt/Washer castings and metal rods including the proper size drill bit. The ‘S’ scale model’s clearance is excellent for On30.
